 On
scheduled the lights dimmed, the energy was up to the red and Dj
Nuts turned the first table to open these historical session.
Madlib Astro Black styled on the Roland Phantom had everyone traveling
on the improvised soundwaves, then Mamao, Tony Allen and Wilson
Das Neves drummed together creating a dialogue with breaks, as Derf
Recklaw blended in with highs and lows on the fender rhodes, saxophone,
percussions and flutes. Jrocc and Babu scratched while
mixing Brazilian roots making the experience leave you a junkie
for beats. Dj Primo brought Hip Hop‘s classics to the
tables followed by Pupillo, who drummed with a Brazilian Northeastern
rooted obscure technic, very inspirational. All together in
one sound ended the innovative folkloric experimental fusion discharge
, a night that will never be forgotten..

GLOBAL WARNING
Hot hot summer days
Sunshine on your mind
Hot hot summer days
As the south and north pole melt away
Can somebody please make it clear
Is it just me or is it getting hot in here
Hotter every year
Tell me do I have anything to fear?
Cause I can’t just cool off
It might be the ending near
As the south and north pole melt away

CONJUNTO PERU NEGRO
Son De Los Diablos
This story began in the 1700s when the drum was banned from the slaves in Peru, South America. Their rhythmical songs were adapted to the cajon, a wooden box of agricultural origins and a mainstay in Black Peru. A hybridization of African,
Indigenous, and European music evolved over the next 200 years, but in the late 1950s the African elements of Peruvian music were reborn. |
